Hi All

I booked an appointment for my parents at the Chennai consulte in dec for my parents. When I filled out both the DS 156 and DS 157 for my mom and added my dad's application ,I was able to fill out only DS 156 and DS 157 never came up on the screen.Nevertheless ,I went ahead and confirmed the appointment date after having filled only DS 156.Now Im worried ,since the application is incomplete.Actually this was not the first attempt.I cancelled the earlier appointment and even then I was able to fill only DS 156 for my dad.
Did somebody run into a similar situation ?Can somebody shed some light on this.

Thanks

DS157 is not needed for those who are aged 55+

Thanx very much for the info. This thingy got me really worried.Sorry to bother you again ,we booked an appointment for my MIL earlier ,and she's 60.Then,the DS 157 popped up on the screen to be filled out..Just curious to know, why the discrepancy???

DS157 was being shown for all applicants of all ages in the VFS website until few months ago. When I filled the forms for my parents who are aged 59 and 55 back in Mar-06, I filled the DS157 for both of them. Recently (may be within the past 3-5 months range), VFS changed their website to only show the DS157 for those less than 55yrs of age.

You don't have to worry about that form at all if it is not shown in the VFS website..

Good luck to your parents!!

Hi there,

Even I am having this problem. My mom is 56 and I had booked her an english appointment. Then I had filled out DS157. But 1 week back I cancelled the english appointment and book an interview slot in kannada. Now it does not show DS157. I was wondering if it was to do with the language.....but silly, isn't it?

I think jaya is right. I remember having booked her previous appointment in june/july. It must have changed now.

Nashavsan, it is not because of the language. It is purely based on the age. So, apparently, VFS folks have changed the rules on their website sometime after Jun/July timeframe - based on your message.

I suggest filling a hard copy of DS 157 and taking to the consulate. My dad had to fill the application at the consulate. He got delayed by 15 mins.

Thanks!
