I intend to apply for visitor visa for my father.
I have few questions and I'll be greatful if the forum experts can answer?

1) What is the minimum bank balance required?
2) My husband is not working currently. Is this an issue to worry about? I am working and drawing an annual salary of 72000 per annum. Our status is I-485 pending.
What should I mention in the current status and proof of current status as my H1 is expired?
3) If I send the documents out now, when can the interview be scheduled?

Thanks
EssKay

there is no requirement that the sponsor have a specific sum in the bank...this is a myth.
your status or who sponsors is largely irrelevant, as long as you are in legal status.
other documents are at best, suppporting, and will not guarantee visa issuance.

Thanks for responding. However what documents should I submit to prove my status. Is it my EAD or I-485 receipt notice?

Can someone please let me know what documents to submit to prove the legal status if your I-485 is pending and H1 expired? I do have a valid EAD card.

Appreciate any input?

Thanks

I would say copy of your:
1. I-485 receipt
2. EAD Card and Advance parole (May not be required but no harm in sending)
3. If you have applied for H1 renewal, then the receipt/approval notice of the renewed petition

Again, just my opinion. Good luck!
