Hi Friends,
My father is giving interview for the fourth time next month. Both my mother and father gave the interview for the first two attempts. Then my mother gave the interview alone for the third time and she got the visa. After that my father went the third time alone but, still he didnt get the visa. This will be the fourth time for him.
The reason that they reject his visa is because i am the only child. My mother is here with me now and will be returning in the month of Feb 2007 to India. We are planning to bring my father now and send them both together back. My father is retired and they are planning to go back to their native home next year.
We am planning to show my mother's return ticket during my father's interview as a proof that they will come back to India.
Could you please let us know as what else can we do to make this interview successful?
Thank you!

round trip airline tickets don't prove anything, nor do they have any physical or legal power over the tickethholder. They are no more valuable than an affidavit 'swearing' or promising someone will return....totally worthless.
If an airline ticket had this great power, no one would overstay...but since on average 350,000 visa holders overstay each year, this just shows that tickets mean zilch.:o

Hey Kloodin,
What is ur problem, why do u always have to be so rude in ur answers, if u don't have the proper answer, why don't u just shut ur mouth rather than blabering something rubbish on this forum.

do not worry, be prepared with all docs and wish they will grant the visa.

Sheeba,
It is very painful to go through multiple rejections. Being truthful along with showing your mom's (and dad's if you have) tickets/itinerary may help a little. Ask your dad to clearly state that his main purpose of the visit is to have a short family reunion. Also let him state something like 'My daughter/SIL have piled up their vacation days to use during the christmas/Dec holiday season. They are planning to visit xyz place (ex: Disney) along with my wife during Christmas and that my wife and I would like to tour the places together. My main purpose is to go on that Disney tour while spending time with daughter/SIL. My wife and I will be back by Feb-07' etc....
Good luck!!

dear jobosale: so what do you know about the visa process? Yep, just what I thought.....nothing. I will post what I believe to be the truth and/or the facts, whether you or anyone else believes them or not. I see you posted absolutely no advice.....great demonstration of your superb knowledge about our immigration laws.....
and as for the last poster claiming documents will produce a visa, well, you are just as naive as jobo the hut. documents will not guarantee a visa, no matter how many times they are notarized, and airline tickets prove nothing....now, for those 'experts' out there, please, prove me wrong....show me in our laws where it says that anyone possessing round trip airline tickets is automatically granted a visa or that such tickets are unconditionable and irrefutable proof that a person will depart the United States....well......I am waiting, Experts.........:)

and the VOs don't really care why someone wants to go the US; they want to know why someone will leave the US (and not work illegally while being a tourist)....;)

FYI Kloodn,
I never said that airline tickets will produce a visa. Go back and read my response again. I said 'being truthful and producing whatever documents possible will help a little' - NOTE: I said 'will help a little'. I am not claiming to be an expert nor I am claiming to have worked in a consulate. I write what ever I think is right and whatever may help soothe the original poster without being ridiculous to any one...
FYI - I don't want to waste any more of my valuable time to respond to you....bye..
