i am a US citizen. my wife has a GC. we live in the US.
my wife's relative wants to visit USA on her own(she intends to self-sponsor).
several questions:
1) she is asking me for a photo-copy of my employee-ID, US passport, etc. i did not find any info on this or other websites that indicates that a person who wants to self-sponsor still needs info from his/her relative living in the US. am i missing anything?
2) she mentioned that she has indicated my name in her visitor-visa application. does she need to do that? i would think that indicating the name of a US citizen in the application would actually hamper her chances of getting a visitor visa. is that correct?
3) what forms does she need to submit to the consulate?

thx,
Tushar

First of all of she needs to be visiting on self sponsored terms, she wont need any thing from you.
No need of copy of passort of any other document.
At the most you may send a letter of invitation, ( Only if the reason she is giving as to visit you & your family, else if the reason is pure tourism it is not required)

Unless she is any of your's blood relative, she might not even need any of your name , since the visa application form ask for such info.

another question:
my wife's relative intends to go to the Delhi consulate for the visitor-visa
interview. item 25 in the DS-156 form mandatorily needs the
details of the person she will be living in the US. she intends to write my
name in that column. she is going to self-sponsor. do i still need to send
her an invitation letter? the Delhi consulate website says the following:
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
B-1 Visa: Business

Together with the mandatory documents, the following documents may be useful to you when you apply for your visa:

*
Invitation letter from the U.S. counterpart/company with which you
plan to conduct business
>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>
however, the above indicates the invitation letter for conducting business.
so the question is do i need to send her the invitation letter?

thanks in advance for your help.
