How old can the Sponsor/Visitor documents be?

Hi,
My Father-in-Law was rejected visitor visa on Aug 22, 2006. Now we got a second interview appointment on Nov 16, 2006. I was wondering how old the visitor and sponsor documents can be ? Could some one please clarify.

There are no official timelies , but genarally Not more then 45 days old.
If possible provide latest.
