I am currently in US and have lost my Indian passport with valid H1B stamping. I have completed all the formalities like getting a police report, informing the visa issuing consulate about my loss of passport.
Indian consulate has issued me a new passport and now I have to get my visa stampped in case I leave US. I am scared of leaving US presuming a visa refusal.
Has anyone encountered such a situation?
Any advice welcome.

Do you have a copy of your Old passport and Visa and I94?
Although a new visa stamp is not possible while you are in USA, however a police record and any old photocopes can help you.
You can get the new Stamp based on these documents, on your next trip to your home country, You dont have to worry about the refusal, if the case genuine consulate will issue the new visa. ( Must carry the original Police report and other related documents)

Can somebody please explain me what is the process if my passport alongwith valid VISA and I-94 is stolen while I am in the US ?
I have filed a police report and i have got the forms to apply for a new passport at the Indian consulate.
1) My question is how do i get the valid VISA stamped on my passport ? By Reading the forums i found out that i have to go out of the US to get this stamped. So can i get the US Visa stamped in any country or does it have to be the country , which issued you the passport, in my case its India.
2) How do i get the duplicate I-94 ? Do i need to apply to the USCIS for this ?
Needless to mention i will be highly obliged to get an answer.
