Did you prepone your parents' appt using the 'reschedule/cancel appt' link?

There has always been a controversy on whether one can prepone his/her appt. Some say that we can not prepone, but can postpone. Some say that they could prepone. I would like to know if you had 1) cancelled the current appt and then filled fresh forms to take an appt in Dec-06 OR 2) used 'reschedule/cancel appt' link to prepone?

This info will be very helpful for me and others. Thank you.

I preponed from Jan10 to Nov27,I was able to prepone without canceling the existing appointment, and I have not filled the DS-156,DS-157 again.

Even I was surprised, I was ready to fill but the system never asked me, it just allowed me to reschedule to a nearer date available.

Glad to know that you were able to reschedule. I will keep trying for my MIL for an earlier date using 'reschedule/cancel' button.

I didn't take the risk of Rescheduling. I cancelled the original one and filled all the docs again and created a new appointment. Unfortunately I missed Nov 27th but I got Dec 14th.
The FAQs say that we can only POST pone but NOT PRE pone. So I didn't go to the reschedule option.
