hi all,
my parents have their visa interview in late october first week in india. my wife just got her h1 (previously on h4) and her start date is 2nd october.

if the question is asked about my wife's visa status, what answer should be given? (h1 or h4?)

thanks in advance,
MK

First of all I dont think they r going to ask such question.
Even if aksed tell the truth, this wont hurt any way.

Since you are the sponsorer, they may not ask about your wife's visa. If asked, say the truth. They neither have to give details on when your wife got the job nor have to show her passport to verify the validity of H1/H4. If you have small kids, saying that your wife just got a job would make the visa officer think that your parents are applying for tourist visa to help out with baby sitting. Your parents can simply say "our DIL is on H1B visa" and not give any additional information unless asked.
