My mom is a Widow and her visa has been rejected on Sep 21st for the second time at chennai consulate. She applied earlier in April
She had a lengthy interview during april with about more than 20 questions and II time she had only few questions
1. Who does your son work for (I am a GC Holder , been with same company from the day i came to US)
2. How many children
Ans: 2 (My brother is still studying college)
3. What is ur younger son doing
4. What is ur income
Ans : Rental 15K/Month
That's it she has been given 214(b) slip
We had all possible documents , like college letter, property docs, recent property evaluation, etc which didn't help

You can re-apply again.
I would say wait for few months before re-applying.
Read and go through people's experiences on this forum, there are many such cases where people got the visa after 3- 4 attempts.

Did any sponser with GC succesfully get tourist visa for their parents ?
I am wondering as some of my friends with GC are also having problem getting visitor visa for their parents, while for the sponsers with other categories, its easier.

Yes.
Having GC does not mean nengetive impact on parents visa.
Each case is different, do not compare yourself with some one else case.
If you have all the documents in place, and parents are well prepared for interview there are very good chances to get the visa.

Susma..
I originally had the same concerns regarding GC. I am a GC holder and my parents appeared for an interview at Chennai consulate last month. They were granted 10yr multiple entry visa.
As Murali mentioned, each case is different. So, don't worry about GC. Prepare your parents well for the interview.

From my experience I think it might be the income she specified. When my in-laws went for first time they also mentioned around 2lakh per year they weren't prepared to answer that question and they just told number and they got rejected. When they went second time we told them to show around 8-9 lakhs of annual income based on the agriculture.

When my mom is not the sponsor, why should someone bother about the income. I guess GC with Widow status makes the difference
