My husband is sponsoring my parents for visitor visa. We obtained stock statements in both ur names showing sufficient investment and bank verification letter and bank statement in my name. Is it necessary that bank statements showing good balance should be in my husband's name.
Please guide ASAP, as i am in the process of sending these documents.
Thanks so much.

A joint account is fine, but if your account is exclusively on your name, it is advisable to get a letter from your husband's bank.

Thanks so much Murali and Jaya for quick reply. I will get the bank statements in my husband's name.
I had one more question.
Since we invest all ur surplus funds in stock and usually do not leave too much in bank i was wondering if we have to maintain that bank balance (as shown in the bank letter) till the date of interview ot is it OK to withdraw funds?
Thanks.

I don't think the visa officer has the ability to 'cross check' the details with the bank on the day of interview. But, you will have to atleast wait until you get the letter from the bank to transfer the funds to stocks. As long as the bank letter is within 30-45 days of the interview, the visa officer will trust it. You may take the bank letter right after you get the salary and just before you pay the monthly bills.
Please also note that the visa officers will care more about the 'average monthly balance' over the past 6-12 months vs the current balance. You may have $10K current balance, but if the average balance is only $1K, then it is a clear indication that you borrowed some money from a friend just few days prior to getting the letter. He doesn't spend time to go through your monthly statments to check if you have borrowed or not, he will assume that you only have $1K and make his judgement based on that.
Even if you have several stocks, you need to show 'liquid cash' when you are promising to pay for all your parents expenses. It is suggested to show $5K per applicant ($10K for both parents) + a decent salary.
