Calling card that "eat" minutes

I noticed some calling card "eat" minutes. Anyone expert on this issue? I don't want to buy a card said 6c/min and after dial few minutes it's used out $5.

there are a lot of cards that eat minutes. Customer Service should restore those minutes or I am wrong? Haev you tried to call Customer Service? I am sure they will refund the minutes that has been eaten. That is what my long distance company does.
