What will be my Status while paying 2002 Tax?

Hi All,
I am in USA since Nov 2001 on B1, recently I got H1B , now my wife and two kids will be joining me here by Apr end.
What will be my status while filing my I-Tax return for 2002? non residen or residen or dual resident? Can I file as married filing jointly? how much staandard deduction can I claim and can I get exemptions for self, wife and both the kids?

For B1 status, i dont think u need to file any taxes here in USA ? I guess ..IF you were not in USA comp payroll

Next year you can file your tax, married filing jointly and childern tax cardit for both of your kids..

Yes while on B1 I was getting payment from Indian Company, from Mar 2002 will be on the payrolls of US Company. still much confised about whether I can qualify as resident alien and file jointly?

Ofcourse forom the day you start on USA company Payrol you qualify to file yr taxes in USA.
