Hi
My wife has H4B visa scheduled in Dec. I am worried for her visa, as she has been denied UK visa once. My question is:
1. Does rejection of UK visa anyway effects US dependent visa?
2. Does US consulate have any way to know that UK visa has been rejected(More specifically do UK and US consulates share some kind of common information at all )?
Thanks a lot for all your inputs.

Each country and each visa type has diffferent criteia for visa grant.
unless the visa was deined under Criminal backgorund, farud etc you dont have to worry. If case is genuine and have all the requried documents the visa should be granted.

Hello Everybody,
I hope this is a stange case to think off.
I am in US and my wife is in India. She attended the US Consulate General Chennai on july
19,2006 and got the H4 visa sucessfully.
She was told that the passport will be returned within 5-10 business days. As she waited for 20
business days, she then contacted the VFS. The Vfs after a through investigation told that the
passport was delivered by the BLUEDART couriers to a different address and hence they lost the
passport. The VFS has informed about the lost of passport to the Consulate General, Chennai and
advised my wife to apply for a new passport.
The VFS & Bluedart couriers have promised that they will give the money for the cause so that
we can get the new passport and the visa etc..etc.And also the VFS Bangalore fellows told that
they will get an earliest possible date to get the visa stamping done..But nothing was done
from the either side.
She now sucessfully got the new passport with our own great efforts. When she went to VFS
bangalore on sep 10,2006, to take an appointment, the VFS Bangalore fellows said that this is a
special case and we need to wait till we hear from the US Consulate General Chennai.
They said that the Consulate General Chennai will contact us by mail. From the day we lost our
passport, neither the VFS nor Consulate General chennai has contacted us until we called them
up and informed about the situation. But VFS never contact in between and after a repeated
contacting them they gave a mobile number of one of the employee of VFS who will never lift the
call.
But i´m pretty sure that Consulate general will NOT contact us as they are least bothered.
Please advice me how I need to approach and get the H4 visa for my wife.
I appreciate if you can reply to my private mail id. I thank you very much if you can reply me regarding this as you are the only ray of hope to me.
Thanking you,
Regards,
Damoder.

I will suggest to send an email to US consulate. Its a very serious issue and u won't expect anything from VFS. US consulate needs to be informed that VFS lost ur passport. Eventhough VFS promised to help but didn't do anything. Let Consulate know the whole detail and defn u will get a response from consulate about what to do now?
I believe, business as well as security wise its a negative thing for VFS and they are trying not to escalate and they may not have informed to consulate also.
Go ahead and contact the consulate directly.
