Visitor Visa Extension - Need Advise

Hi
My mom has 10yr Multiple entry..her first visit was only for 4 months (Oct-Feb 2006). Then she came back in May 2006 and is with me (6 months till Nov 20)...
I would like to apply for visa ext..

I need clarifications for :

Should I have to extend the Air ticket first and then apply for Visa Ext???
What are the valid reasons that can be quoted to get an ext???
When can I apply for extension??
What will happen if the visa ext is denied?? Should she have to leave USA even before her I-94 expires(Nov 2006) ??

I think you did not read them properly; any way here is the answer:

1. No, you can book the ticket only after you receive the decision, for the paper purpose you can send a planned itinerary.

2. It depend son case to case, some of the common reasons need more time to cover tourist places, spend some more time with family, medical reason.

3. You can apply any time before the expiry of current I94, better to apply in advance.

4. In case it denied, she can leave immediately/(ASAP).
If applied and has received the receipt of application she can stay and it will not be considered as illegal stay , however in case of denial, it may be a potential negative point against her in her future visa request or entry into USA.
