Should my parents enter within 6months of getting visa?

Hello,
My parents got 10 years multiple entry visas.

I'm planning to bring them end of December 2006.

Some of my friends were saying that my parents should enter within 6 months of getting the visa.

Is that true? Or can they enter (first visit) after six months/one year?

they can enter at anytime. No need to enter before 6 months

The date of expiry of the visa indicates : the visitor has to enter usa before the end of that date. Here as your parents have got multiple entry, your parents can enter usa on any date before the expiry of the 10 year multiple visa and can go back and come any number of times during this 10 year period
