will self sponsoring the trip increase the chance of visa approval

Hello everyone,

I am having visa interview on 23rd aug 2006. I have filled earlier that my brother who is in states will sponsor the trip. But one of my friends whose visa got rejected advised me to mention that we ourselves are sposoring the trip which indicates that Indian Money is being spent for the american economy and i have changed.

I am having sound Income tax returns and should i change in my application. Please advise me. Any how I got sponsorship documents from my brother and they are readily available.

I dont think so, rather a sponsorship is better, unless the sponsore is not in good financial postion or a student.
