renew International driving permit ?

I applied for my international driving premit when I came to the US two
years ago. My permit expired last year. I want to renew the permit since I
am interested in buying a car.
Can I renew my permit? Can an Indian authority do that for me?
I have my original permit with me.

Isha,
An IDP(International driving permit) issued from India is for a temporary period.
It can't be renewed here in USA.

If you are in USA for a longer time, better to go for your state driving license in USA itself.
Any way you will be needing it,as in few US states IDP id not valid for longer time.
