Hi,
my parents got rejected 2 times last year and i want to apply again. the VO said they do not have enough finances.as he showed his income as 1 lakh per year.
my father had his own buisness and now he sold his shop and he is retired,but he gets some money through farming.
so while filling the form in occupation what should i write retired or farming.
also my parents r planning to visit singapore in november.so should i apply after they come form singapore so that it will be a strong point. will it help
please advice.

1. Fill "retired "
2. Your choice , you may do so. just because they have singapore stamp on thier passport does not make them qualify for US Visa, however as per peoples experience it help some times.

thanks for the reply.
as u said fill retired , and VO would ask what do u do for living.
if my dad say he gets some from farming ,then approx. how much money is better to show.
as on farming we do not show tax., so what kind of papers can we make or
or just show money in the bank andsay i get this amount through farming.
please help.

Sonali,

The only "help" you might get from the Singapore trip is for your parents to show that "they in fact returned to their home country without overstaying at Singapore and hence possibly will not overstay at USA too".

If it is possible for you to adjust the dates, I would go on for the Singapore trip first and then go for the USA visa. Just a Singapore visa stamp may not help, but an actual trip may help.
