Hi there...

I filled the application forms DS 156/157 for my parents and in the DS156 form... under fax and pager numbers, I couldn't enter NONE or NA as the software prompted that I have to enter only numbers. So, finally when I submitted the form, these fields are empty. But as per instructions, we shouldn't leave any fields empty. Will these empty fields create a problem for my parents when they go for their appointment? Did anyone observe the same thing and what did you do? Also, how much in advance to the appointment date can you modify your application forms? Plz suggest... Thanks in advance...

Hi, my forms were the same way. The three fields of fax number, fax number business and pager numbers were left blank, because of the same reasons as yours...takes only numbers. Also under my college names I had three listings but did not have the numbers for two of them, and it took only numbers as well, so I had to leave those areas blank. I had my interview yesterday and my visa was granted. I do not think leaving these areas blank as far as the fax and pager can be any problem, as there is no way to fill in any letter. So I think you are safe with that. As for modifying your application, you can do so up to two days before the interview. Good luck to your parents..:)
