hi
i checked on the Mumbai consulate site there is no date available before Jan 07
so do i have to wait till that time for the interview?
i have heared about a software which gives u an alarm when there is any cancellation of appointment at an early date.
if u have access pls let me know

Hi,

My work place is chennai and i would like to attend Interview in either Mumbai or Kolkatta. Is it really possible if so what is the procedure which i need to proceed. More over i have paid my Visa Processing fee in Chennai bank.

Please revert back to me with your valuable suggestions.

It is not possible, unless you have a residence address in state which falls under Mumbai and Kolkatta.

Hi,

Its mentioned there that you need to give the state of residence where you are since last 6 months.

Bank receipt doesn't matter here.

I am working for a MNC company Pune Facility on an implmentation,though I was employed by this company in Chennai I have been posted to Pune since 6 months.When my US employer put the H1 petition I was in chennai.

I guess I am entitled to go to Mumbai consulate for my interview,before I could take any step forward I would like to be sure of this.

Does USCIS send some kind of info to the chennai consulate only (which will direct our petition/me to chennai)

Any advice is highly appreciated.......

Why not write directly to VFS and clarify your situation? However, the thumb rule is last 6 months of residency.
