Dear Friends,

I will be travelling to INDIA FOR MY PREGNANCY.

So when the New Baby is Born i need to Apply for the INDIAN PASSPORT and ALSO FOR THE USA Visa to come back.

Can anybody please share the experiences who faced this situation.

I would like to know how long would it take for getting the visa for the BABY.

Your reponse would be highly appreciated.

Thanks a Lot in Advance,

Hi,

Congrats on your upcoming delivery.

We did the same thing when my wife was a pregnant. Once baby born, to apply passport, you may need notarized Specimen Form of Affidavit from Indian consulate here in USA. its simple procedure, can be get it in same day if apply in person. you can find the information in any indian consulate in usa website. for us it took 40 days to get a passport in india.

Once you got the passport it is the same procedure(nothing more, nothing less) as applying H4 visa. if you are not applying H4 revalidation urself ( I assume you are on H4), your baby donot want to accompany you at the time of interview. otherwise you may have to email to US consulate in india to know, if someone can accompany with the baby for his H4 visa interview since he is just a baby.

hope this will answer your question.

notarized Specimen Form of Affidavit to be provided along with the passport application for the child if any one of the parent is in abroad at the time of applying PP. This form can be only obtained after the delivery. you may find more info about this in any Indian Consulate website in here.

its simple. nothing complicated. once the child born in india, (i believe you will be here at that time when your wife going to apply for the PP), download the Specimen Form of Affidavit, fill it, get notirized from any local community (mostly you could find one from your office itself), go to your near indian consulate and get the Form signed, send to India, ask apply for PP with that. Once you received your child's PP. its the same process as applying H4.

the form is for either one of the parent is not present in india at the time of applying PP for the new born baby. here in indian consulate and local notary, they are basically notirized you are the person whose mentioned in the application as father/mother. its like we submit notarized degree certificate and marksheet to apply any govt job in india. thats all.

hope this will clarify your doubt
