Options available When laid off

hi readers,
I have two questions which can be clarified by you guyz. Please consider the follwoing scenarios
1. What are the options available If I am laid of with given notice period of one day/within a day?
2. What are the options available If I have been given 2 weeks of notice period before being laid off?

Please answer me as I'm planning to move my H1 from an Indian Consultant to a MNC in US. Your kind help is appreciated.

Doesn't matter when you laid off, legally on the day u laid off(or last day of your job) you are suppose to leave the country and you will start incurring number of out of status days. Upto 10 days its fine.
But USCIS considers all these cases on a individual bases. Also as per the different lawyer, H1B person shouldn't be out of job for more then 60 days.
