I stay in Illinois, My new 2000 Toyota camry was hit by a car on the side door & the other car person ran off. The damage was not much. Only the driver side rear door got deformed. The police came & gave a report.
Took it to my Toyota dealers body shop & they replaced the full rear door with a new 2000 camry door, buffed etc & my car looks brand new now.
My question is:
Will this be mentioned against my car vechile history that i had an accident or will it be mentioned in the CarFax report? Does that mean that my car selling value will decrease although it has been fully fixed?
Please advice.

Yes ! chirau, the carfax and most of the car history are derived from the VIN, so any kind of touchups, accidents, lemon, anything will surely show up in carfax history. But as long as the engine is well and running, u dont have to worry. When u decide to sell, most of the buyers and sellers evaluate the price based on kelly's blue book value, so ur good. Chill now and enjoy the car.

Yes.

My husbands car was hit by a dear and the damage was huge 3000$$. No police involvement. we called the insurance co and everything was fixed. but after 2 months it showed up in carfax report.
If you had called the insurance co. then definitely it is going to show up in your report.
