Hi,
I was trying to get an H-1B appointment in India.I am getting married in october and hence my trip is very time sensitive in nature.I am not able to get dates during the time period of my trip. Can I take an emergency appointment if i have a letter from my employer? has anyone done this before?
If yes what have your experiences been regarding this?
Thanks

Thanks,

I was asked to print the email which i got from vfs and visit any of the vfs center and they would help in getting the emrgency appointment if the dates are not available.
One of my friend directly walked in in vfs center he was returning H1B with the email and they gave him appt of next day
Thanks

Was your friend simply seeking an emergency appointment for revalidation of H1B? Or did he/she come to India for revalidation and also marry at the same time. What VFS writes on this is very contradictory. The fact is that one still has to fill in online appointment form and select a date (even for emergencies) in advance. While revalidation offers a clear case for an emergency appointment, will the VO look kindly on the fact that the appointment seeker had planned in advance to marry on the same trip and had filled the dependents application for the same in advance? The latter is not considered to be an emergency situation by them. Does the 'revalidation emergency' as such over-rule the marriage rule?
Any clarification on this particular issue would help.
Many thanks,
Raajii:)

THough it was revalidation for H1....I could have gone any time so the emergency in case becomes returning back to Job as cannot get off for more than 3 weeks

Hey shilpapt,
I don't know if this will help but if you employer is a BEP (Business Executive Program) member at the US Consulate he can set up an emergency appointment for you.
