my parents visa was refused some days back...but they were not given any refusal letter...they were only told that their visa is rejected based on section214(b).

Can we ask the consulate now for the refusal letter so that we can know the exact reson for refusal.....is there any time limit for it in case we can ask for it?

Iam planning to apply again for their visa some time in feb or mar next year.

thanks

In many cases they do not give letter.
214(b) means potentiail immigrant, or in other words Not enough ties in home country.

Pava,

My advice is to wait at least an year before they go to next visit. I did the same mistake by sending my parents three times in 4 months gap, the third time the officer did not even look into anything but rejected the visa.

After an year and half my parents again going for the interview, this time I hope it will workout.
