H4 - H1: Plz help

Hai,
I have been In US for the past 3 years in H4 visa. Now,my consultant has applied for my H1 & I have got the reciept on may 8th 2006.I have done my BE[EIE] in tamilnadu,india.I know the programing languages C,c++. I have only 2 years of teaching experience in an Engg college in India
I'm really scared whether my H1B petition will be approved? If so, how early can I know the result of that?
Other thing is that,I have to go to India by December for attending my brother's marriage.
Where can i get my first H1 stamping in canada or in india?
Some say that goint to canada for first H1B stamping is not safe? is it so?
I checked the interview date in chennai too.the dates r avaiable only in December end?
Can i schedule appointment in other consolate too?
I'm really worried about what to do? Can anyone plzz help me??

I dont see any issue in just getting the H1 petition approval, it may be a vlaid concern for a the time of visa stamping in consulate. They do ask questions during the interview, but I dont think it should be hard..

I have other question too. Since,I'm basically from chennai,but now residing in US for the past 3 years,Can I schedule appointment at any of the other consolate too?
B'coz I don't see any dates available in December in chennai consolate.

if u are residing in US u can take appt at any consulate - please email vfs and confirm

Hai,
I just enquired with vfs and they said I can apply only at chennai consolate since this is going to be my first H1 stamping.
When I check the chennai consolate ,they display dates available only at january now.
I plan to go to India by December,Can anyone suggest me how to book an earlier date in December in chennai consolate?
