View Full Version : Electronics
My parents bought a Sumeet mixie and sent to me. I Asked them whether they convert the motor to support U.S. power, they said they did that. But after i received and saw that, the plug is not like U.S or India supported. When i enquire here in U.S, some shop said it might be London/Africa plug. If i want to use this in U.S, what should i do? where can i get the converter/plug which supports U.S power/jacks?

Dear Venu,
You will get the plug adapater almost anywhere. I am quite sure Frye's Electronics has it or you can also try Best Buy or RadioShack. I bought a few of them myself and they are quite inexpensive too. Remember this is not a converter, its merely a plug adapater that fits into your existing US plug and conversts into a form that can be used with 220V or vice versa, meaning it can fit into the 220V plug and convert into US 110V form.
Good luck
We don't have Fry's Electornics here, though i tried in Radioshack and Electrnic express, they couldn't find one for me. They have the plug adaptors for U.S plugs which goes to India and Have plug adaptors for Asia plugs which works here in U.S. But my plug is neither looks like asia plug nor U.S plug. They don't have the plug adaptors for my plug (London/Africa).
Anyway, thanks for the advice. Can anybody faced this kinda situtation?

But Online.
you need 2 things:
#1. Voltage convereter from 110-220v.
#2. A US compitable plug.
Search on the net and you get several such online stores, buyt which ever is cheaper.
