hi
i had recently gone to chennai us consulate for gettin visa but they gave me a pink handout which meant that they wanted to do some processing before issuing me and my wife visa
now after 2 mnths of my appointment date they have sent an email indicating that we should send ppt/dd/visa issuance fee and ds-156 for my wife and self

question in my mind is

1.is it usual for them to ask for ds-156 again spl wen i have already submitted earlier at the time of interview?
2.the previously filled ds-156 is available on line so why r they asking for it again?
3.can the address of sponsors be different from wot we had previously indicated in ds-156?
4.wot duration of stay shud be indicated on ds-156 for gettin long term visa?

thankyou all for ur time and suggestions

you got lucky, dear, you atleast heard from them after 2 months, i;m counting 5 months and up and still no news for my folks.

1.is it usual for them to ask for ds-156 again spl wen i have already submitted earlier at the time of interview?
The whole process of pink, blue and even yellow notes is so new, and evolving that there is not much proof (I've reserached a lot), or doucmentation to suggest if it usual or unusal to ask for DS-156, though it was submitted previously. (other readers if i'm worng let me know)

2.the previously filled ds-156 is available on line so why r they asking for it again?

Maybe because they can.

3.can the address of sponsors be different from wot we had previously indicated in ds-156?
Surely, that's a possibility. It's not uncomoon that people are working as consultants and move from one place to another very often. Even though 2 months seem less for you, it mightbe a valid time frame for another.

4.wot duration of stay shud be indicated on ds-156 for gettin long term visa?
Good question !

Would they give a visa if they know u r going for a long term, how does it prove to the VO that a person will return to homecountry. I guess you could try one year as long term visa but i wouldnt suggest it. Just for 3 months of visits, they have been denying visa like banks deny loans (figurative speech).

Can you tell me what's the date of the interview you went for ?

Good luck and have fun.
