Hi,
I have attended the intw on 13th of July. Lady interviewed me collected the passport asking me to come the following week same day and collect Visa/Passport. That is the normal duration here in Riyadh(K.S.A) for Visa stamping.
I made numerous visits to the consulate here they dont allow me inside saying it will come in a day or two.
Finally they gave me a # and has asked me to call, and they never pick up the phone.
Finally I emailed to them stating my issue clearly, noiw they say it is with Homeland Security.
I dont understand do they need my passport for verification?
Now the issue I have is I am on a work permit to this country and it expires on the 30th of July.
If I take back the Passport by aborting this process, I will have to start all over again from my home country (India).
Has this happend to anybody, what is the time they normally take to clear in Homeland Security.
Any info will be of gr8 help to me.
Thanx.,
Surya.

You never know how long it will take with the consulate.

I am an H1-B holder and worked in US for a couple of months. Then I went to my home country for multiple entry stamping. It has been almost 7months my passport has been with them. They gave me a 221g thrice and it has been almost 3months since I last heard from them.

When I emailed them, they say it is under review. My H1-B expires early 2007. I am in a dilemma whether to go for the ADE quota or transfer my h1-B to another company.

But I am worried, that when I go to the consulate for stamping on the new H1-B, they will dig into the current case (which happened due to the improper documentation from my employer's end) and put the new case also pending.

Very frustrating.

Hi Murali,
I working in Saudi on a work permit, my project is almost complete and I need to leave this country in 2,3 weeks at the max.
My passport is with the US Consualte here they have collected for H1B stamping 25 days back. I learnt from this site that it might take 6 months and can be more.
I lost hope, that it gets stamped from here.
FYI...
I just called the embassy, and they say that on their system it shows approved and not stamped.
And she is also mentioned that they dont normally hold pass ports that long with out stamping, near the consulate here I met another Indian whose case is same as mine.
Now I have a couple of questions...
1. I get the passport by aborting the process, can I continue the same from Chennai consulate?
2. Can I courier my passport from India to the consulate here after I reach ( I know this is weird) just checking if there is an option.
Any advice will be higly appreciated.
Thanx,
Surya.
