Hello,

I got a Nirlep mixer from India over here,
In order to be able to use it I bought a voltage converter
converting 110V -220V at RadioShack.

However, the mixer does not work properly, what i see is that it works at a very low speed hence is unable to chop or grind. I guess, it is not getting enough power.

But the mixer worked fine when I had checked it in India.
So any clues as to what this problem couldbe?
Has anyone tried using Indian mixers over here (with success?)

Make sure that the Voltage converter matches the Watage given at the Box of yr Mixer or manual.
If its less then that, you may need to change yr Voltage converter and buy the one which matchs the required Power.
Also, buy Online it would be cheaper...

Natasha,

Even we use a Mixie bought from india and we have brought the converter in India itself and works fine.

The current rating to the mixie should match what the mixie wants, even though you get 220V from the converter it might not be supplying enought current. Normally the current rating for India appliances is 5 Amps.
