Hi

I have scheduled an appointment for My parent's visitor Visa. I have few questions regarding this. Can some one help me in answering these qns?

1. My parents are planning to travel in December. They will stay here for approx 3 months. If asked in interview, they will say that the visit is for tourism and family Visit. Since December is not the right time for tourism because cold weather, will this cause any problem in getting visa? Has anyone got visitor visa who intends to travel during Winter season?

2. How much bank balance in my parents account is good enough?

3. In the guidance documents from VFS, they would ask for the child's birth certificate if they are visiting their children. But I don't have a Birth Certificate. Will my Passport work as an alternative?

4. My mother has signed in her Native language in her Passport and DS-156 form. Will this cause any problem?

Thanks

I can only answer one of your questions. I do not see how your parents going in December would pose a problem, as first of all not all US states have bad winters. Lots of people travel to California and Florida in the wintertime. MY parents went to San Francisco couple of years back, and they had no problem. They said they wanted to visit for Christmas, and to be able to see the Christmas decorations etc. I just don't see how the VO could use that as a deterrent to a visa.
