You mentioned that you saw a petition that was filled on 4th April and has been approved on 20th June. So any idea whether this 4th April is the received date or the notice date.

There are two dates on the receipt, one being the received date and the other the notice date. In my case the received date is 3rd April and the notice date is 12th April.

So going by the equation when should I expect my petition to be approved.

Is it usual that those service centers work so lamely slow? I guess in general we must wait for at least 3 months until our case is approved. :(

Why do they still work that slowly even though every applicant pays processing fee for regular application as well? That large number of H1B applicants this year is a lame excuse that they can not work fast! :mad:

I got H-1 approval today morning.Even though uscis site still says that current processing (notice)date for texas center is march 31 st I got approval (my notice date- Apr 28th)
What I did was I created an account in uscis site by giving my email id so once it got approved they sent me an email.

Note- Couple weeks back I got an email stating that they had moved my case from vermont center to texas center

Texas center is still showing as March 31, 2006. But I guess they are approving some of the cases. Though they are claiming that the USCIS website gives the current processing time lines, we can ignore those dates for Texas center. I don’t know what is happening. May be Texas center is processing other centers forwarded applications. My wife’s case is filed on April 27, 2006 at Texas center; I think that I still need to wait for one more month.

Due to bispecialization some applications are transfered to other centers like vermont to texas.

Most cases which are transfered to TX on jun 27th were approved within 25 working days i.e. by july 24th. So i assume you may also get before end of august.

I m waiting for my papers to be received by hand before i take appointment. I am not in a hurry and waiting for my employer to give me the petition details that are to be filled while taking appointment.

Well,dont worry about that...U may expect the approval anytime this week.(thats a guess).
U must understand that this is not purely a SERIAL BASED APPROVAL concept,which means a person who applied after U did(Regular Application),may receive the approval earlier than you.
Even I know a situation where in a MAY 3rd Application(Regular) @ Vermont got approved some 20 days back and mine got approved only last Thursday.
So just dont think about it..U will get it approved very soon.

In the meanwhile go ahead and schedule the Consulate appointment with your PETITION #.Hope U did this by now.

I think its just luck.Bcoz some people got their approval within one month
after their cases transferred to texas and in Rao98(saritha) case she got approval within one week after her case tranferred to texas.

Well,dont worry about that...U may expect the approval anytime this week.(thats a guess).
U must understand that this is not purely a SERIAL BASED APPROVAL concept,which means a person who applied after U did(Regular Application),may receive the approval earlier than you.
Even I know a situation where in a MAY 3rd Application(Regular) @ Vermont got approved some 20 days back and mine got approved only last Thursday.
So just dont think about it..U will get it approved very soon.

In the meanwhile go ahead and schedule the Consulate appointment with your PETITION #.Hope U did this by now.

Small info 4 u:

when I was there, 2 of my friends got 221g due to certificate evaluation.

Sometime VO may as you, Do u want to process ur visa here or in ur home town?, if they say they have AAP due to certificate eveluation, its better to get back the appln and goahead with ur hometown embassy bcoz,one for my friends they took the original certificates, nearly 7 months ago, no reply from them, for the other guy 12 months passed, no response.

The VO in London, they r pretty cool, dont compel them to procees ur case there, though they said it will take long time.

I feel sept mid is way too early for a date.. As after the approval, the docs would be dispatched to Employer and who would inturn mail them to us with supporting docs.. I am sure it would take a month for this process to happen... So dont hurry dude and wait for docs.. Just my opinion..

Yes, I know it will take time, My marriage is fixed on 20th sep, so i want to get it done before that, suppose I am not able to do that then I think I have to show and modify alot of details.

Like marriage certificate etc and also have to apply for H4 for my wife, which currently I don't want as she is having valid h1b.

Guess you will need to be a little more patient coz i received my approval from Nebraska on the 3rd of Oct. Think NB has become real slow in their processing. I guess i got it sooner because, mine was upgraded to the premium processing mode. Not sure if my employer or Vermont Service center did that!
