Hi guys,
My mom's visa was rejected in Mumbai consulate on 17th May, reason given was 214B. She had already been to US twice when she had visa for 3 years and she always came back to India on time. Last time when the visa was granted, my elder brother was sponsorer and I was in India. Now I am in US too and I thought I should sponsor her this time. It seems this could one reason for her visa denial. Second mistake what we did that she said her daughter-in-law is pregnant. I discovered that later when I was reading post in the visa forums. I was under the impression that she had been in US twice so she shouldn't have any problem in getting the visa again.
Can anyone suggest me on these points,
1) When should we re-apply, I know we can re-apply after 3 days but practically should I wait atleast 2-3 months and then try or not.
2) I was thinking of asking my brother to sponsor this time becz I recently changed my status from L1 to H1 which could be one of the reason for denial and he is here from last 6-7 years.
3) We applied for 6 months visa last time, I was thinking of applying for 2 months this time and along with all the strong ties documents I will send the complete itinerary with the confirm tickets. I can get the ticket which can be cancelled just in case she doesnt get the visa, there will be few dollars fine but I think its worth it.
4) I was also thinking of consulting good immigration lawyer, they probably deal with these kind senarios quite often they can help me if I am missing something this time. If someone has already done this, I would appreciate if you could send me some info on this.
