I have read a lot about pre-existing conditions on this website. How is a pre-existing condition identified? Suppose my parents are here and they suffer a stroke, and they had no prior occurence of it , how can it be proved that it was not pre-existing? Does having a detail hospital checkup done in India and getiing a report on their health help in these matters. Any response on this is appreciated. Thanks

The doctors can find everything by diagnosing and finding the stage of the disease . The insurance company also has a list of diseases that are considered pre-existing - Ashtma, Arthritis , Heart troubles etc.

The visitors are not covered for any of these ..

Pre-existing conditions is a favorite for insurance companies. For practical purposes, you are injured in a traffic accident and you are 60+, you are covered. If you had high cholesterol 10 years ago, and you suffer a stroke in USA, you are not covered. I hope this helps.
