I have posted this blog on earlier but have not received any detailed replies.
1) I think I have okay financial status (50+ lac house and 50+ lac savings). So, what is preferable?
Self-sponsorship or sponsoring by son (who has quite good status too, about $100k to show in savings in US) ?Do you think the CO would give more weightage to US-based docs and hence I should have my son sponsoring us?
2) About my financial status. I have read a lot about "Bank Balance". Well I do Not keep too much of it in cash in bank. If it is all in FDs, Share, MFs etc, is it essential that I should encash some such assets and show my Savings Acct balance high; say around 5 lacs?Is this of any importance?Do they not trust the Shares, MF and FD statements?
3) In case of Shares/MFs/FDs, do I need to carry all original Receipts?
4) I have ex-Army as well as ex-IT Corporate background. What kinda questions I am likely to face?
This is important for me, 'cause I havent seen this scenario in any blogs earlier...
I know, it's asking a lot. Bu hope some kindred soul shall help me (Murali please, you seem very knowledgable and to the point..)
