Financial statement

My Dad was asked to show his financial statement when he went for interview back in Jan. Since his visa was rejected, I'm re-applying again in May. My question is what exactly they mean when they ask for financial statement? My Dad showed the property affidavit to the officer. The next doc he wanted to show was his bank statement but officer didn't even look at it and gave the letter of rejection. So I'm not sure if the decision was made based on that property affidavit. As far as I know Dad had shown a few lakhs of property and he also gets a good amount of pension.

U can get a CA to prepare this, if u need. FOr students, there is a special format for financial statement, but for regular visitors an affidavit will do.
