We have a friend in Egypt that we would like to come visit for 2 weeks. we just got back from visiting them in Egypt and would like them to get to come here for 2 weeks. They are a college student and cant get passport until june 20th when college is out for summer. The school will not release them for travel until then, and they cant apply and get passport until that date. their college starts back Sept 20th,.. So my question is, can they get an interview and get approved in that time period in time enough to come??? Can we schedule in advance an interview now for maybe july 15th in time for them to have their passport so there is time for the interview and to get the visa to be approved? I am supporting the trip, i can show I have the financial stability etc and i can have round trip tickets in their hand at time of interview. They are only a poor college student at this time, and only have 1 more year of college left that they very well intend on completing. I am not gonna take them to raise in the usa, just wanting them to come visit 2 weeks and go back home. They have no family ties at all in the usa. Any help or advise is appreciated. Is any of this possible???

How long does it take after you get a passport? Is there enough time to get a visitor visa within 2 months??

Depends onwhich city/consulate you apply.
here is the URL to check the average wait time for each US consulate worldwide.
Select the approrpaite/applicable city US consulate where your friend will be applying for the visa.

thanks for the site, the wait time looks like just a few days. Wow. I read somewhere that some people had to wait months for the interview scheduled. thanks. I also need advise or your opinion... What will most likely knock him out during the interview. He and my daughter are like Bf/ gf she is way to young for marriage and stuff like that now, if he mentions love will that knock him out!! He is just coming for 2 weeks and we plan on going back there to visit him and his family next year. We thought about going to Florida and Disney when he comes and ofcourse he will have his own rooooom. hahah. We care alot for him and want to give him a opportunity to see the USA. He was so hospitable to us while in Egypt, showed us around and having him there to speak Arabic really helped many times. Any detailed advise would be greatly appreciated.

In my opinion it would be best if you wrote out a letter inviting them over for 2 weeks; mentioning what places you plan to take them visiting and that they're welcome to stay with you etc. (all the stuff you mentioned here but I'd leave out him being your daughter's boyfriend bit :))
I think saying he's your daughter's boyfriend might give the consulate staff the impression that he'd want to migrate to the US and they might turn down his visa request...might.
