Hi, My parents and siblings have their visa appointment scheduled at mumbai in the first week of May.

My father is a businessman and my mother is a housewife. My siblings aged 19 and 22 are in college and working respectively. My family has travelled quite a bit outside India in the past few years and they went to Europe last May. The only exception being USA. My father can sponsor their entire visit to USA and can show all the bank statements and proof of income that is needed.

My parents had obtained a USA visa a long time back ( 7years ago), but for personal reasons they were unable to visit then. At that time I was still in India and my parents had sponsored themselves.

1) With this background, what is a better option - me sponsoring them or my father sponsoring their visit.
2) My sister is 22 and is working, will this pose a problem ?
3) In case I sponsor, is it alright to send two account verification letters from 2 diff banks, since I maintain 2 accounts.

Please let me know. All help is greatly appreciated,

Regards,

Murali

A good financial backing and past history of traveling aboard is certainly positive sign and do work in favor.
about sponsorship -its your choice whether you want them to sponsor themselves or you can be sponsor if you have good bank balance a other required documents.
Though it is true that getting a visa for young people is difficult but it is not always true and depends on case to case.
Yes you can send both the bank statement and put the combined value in I134.
the key is always the interview so prepare well.

Thanks Murali, that helps. I have one more question though.

1)In case I decide to sponsor my family, my husband shall also co-sponsor them. Together we can show a balance of around 35 k. Is this a decent amount ? Or is it better that my father sponsors - he has an asset of a house and own office.

2) Also, when both of us sponsor does this mean we both have to send a
I-134 each.

Thanks..

There is no conept of co-sponsor or joint sponsor.
any one of you can be the sponsor. As far as showing the financials you can show household income in the I134 form.
If you have a joing bank account that sould be OK , or else bank stantment of a sponsor person will do, any amount 5K$+ should be OK in statement.
