Congress Passes New Premium Processing Fee For INS Petitions and Appli-cations December 21, 2000
Congress has passed a provision which allows INS to charge a "premium processing fee" of $1000 for applications and petitions which receive special expedited consideration.
The legislation does not specify which applications and petitions will be in-cluded Nor does it state how quickly the INS will process premium petitions (Do you get a refund if the specified turnaround time is exceeded?)
However, in the proposed INS budget, the premium fee was limited to I-129's and I-140's and processing time was 15 days.
The premium fee would be in addition to the regular filing fees.
Please any body explain
