My H1 transfer is in process.
My wife's i-94 expires in April 2006.She is on H4 visa.
Do I need to worry about I-94 getting expired or is it ok since any way I will be getting new i-94 along with the new I-797 after H1/H4 transfer?

Note that ur spouse also needs to maintain valid status inthe US (Determined by date on I94) - If the i94 is close to expiry, u need to file I539 for extension of spouse's h4 status.
this can be done along with ur h1 transfer petition.

Thanks for your reply Roline. Immigration officer wrote' passport expires on 19th April 2006' on the I-94.
We got the passport extended.
Does above mean I-94 expires on 19th April 2006 ?

Thats all it says ' passport expires on 19th April 2006'.
I went to the office in LA after taking appointment. The officer said I have no problem.
We got the extended petition in Jan 2005. The attached i-94 had date as May 19th 2007.
However we travelled outside US in Aug 2005. We got another i-94 which says ' passport expires on 19th April 2006'.
He thought no problem after looking at two I94S.
However ,when I met deferred inspector, she suggested 1) file an extension
2) go to mexico:
1) I already filed for extension through my company, however I am planning to change company. Not sure how is this going to affect as I may not get receipt number after resignation.
2) Not sure how safe it is to travel to Tijuana with daughter and wife . I think it takes time to get visa for mexico. I do not have that much time.
Please advise.
