Visitor Visa to old grand mother - is there an interview

My grand mother is 84 years old in good health condition. I want to invite her for a visit to USA. Does she need to go for an interview at Chennai? My mother and father are also at USA and we are all Green Card holders. Some say that for old people like my grand mother there is no interview is it true?
Can some one guide in this regards.
