I need to schedule an appointment for visitors visa for my parents.

They live in Mumbai.

Will they get earlier dates of appointments if they go inperson to take one?

Please Adivise.

Some times yes.. So if you are near to the VFS office, give it a try. But if u take appt at local office, you won't be able to edit forms or reschedule online.

Will they have to carry the supporting documents while scheduling the inteview inperson
or they can send them in later on by courier ?

They will need to fill out DS 156 and DS 157. Other docs can be given later. I believe Mumbai has special requiremets regding sending docs. Pls check this site under visitor visa process for more details on this.
