I am a H1B holder. My spouse would be applying for the H4 visa from Kolkata
consulate.

I have the following questions:-

1. For the H4 VISA interview, it is necessary for my spouse to carry my
original -I797 form, or a xerox copy would suffice?

2. Do I need to send any documents to the consulate prior to appearing for
the visa interview and after taking the visa appointment?
