Emergency Visa appointment at chennai?

I am working for Company B since january 2006 and planning to go to india this weekend.

I came to USA in June 2005 on company A visa and worked for them till Dec 2005. Then i joined in Company B and the new H1B for Company B was approved by INS last week. I am expecting the hard copy of the H1B approval notice next week.

From this forum, i got an information that i can go to india and comeback in Company A visa as my ex-employer did not cancel my h1b yet and it is valid upto june 2007. But my present employer is asking me to get stamped in their new H1B and come back to avoid any re-entryproblem.

But there is no appointment in Chennai Consulate till july 2006. I heard from him that i can apply for emergency appointment and get my stamping in less than 1 month and i don't need to wait for the regular appointment time.

Here are my questions.
1. Can i go to Chennai consulate for Emergency appointmenr?
2. Where and how to contact to get this emergency appoinment?
3. What are the documents needs to be shown as prrof for the emergency?

returning h1b workers qualify for priority appts - the process is the same as a regular appt - u need to click on "emergency appt" after filling in the details.

There is no link to click to understand the emergency appontment in your reply.

I got an unconformed information from my friends that emergency appointments are available only in Bombay and Delhi Consulates. NOT in chennai Consulate

As i belongs to Tamilnadu, i want to know that can i get emergency appointment in Chennai Consulate during my visit to India next week?
