H4-H1 Issue - Please Suggest

Hi All,

I have valid h4 visa and recently got the h1 approval as well. My question is can i travel on h4 and start working as i have already h1 petition?

Please advice me.

No, if you enter in US on H4 your status will be H4 in USCIS record.

note that valid status in the US is determined by I94 - If u reenter with h4 visa then u will get an i94 with h4 status, u wld need to get a new h1 visa stamp and enter with h1 visa to get into h1 status

After entered into USA on h4, can i goto canada and get h1 stamp?
Is there any time limit i need to maintain h4 status?
