My situation is this :
My parents applied in 2004 June and they went together
The interview went off well.. but when the officer asked about finances (income, expenses) my father jumbled up a little.. He gave a wrong figure and the officer immediately rejected the applications (both)
We reapplied in August and that time the officer was good. He just went through the papers and when he saw the computer screen he was upset and rejected immediately. So totally there were rejected twice.
We dont have relatives in US.
My sister and her family live in India and my grandparents too live in India. I want to apply now for my parents but seperately .
My mom will be going first then my dad.
I have a few questions here:
1. CO Q:
Why was ur visa rejected last time?
How can we answer this?
Can we say that my father was nervous and could not give right figures?
In our letter to the counslate can we write why their visa was rejected last time?
2.My husband is sponsoring them
I dont think we have 15k in the bank to show for past 6 months
.. will that be a matter?
3.CO Q: Why hasnt ur daughter visited u in 2 yrs?
I came here in dec03 and havent been to India since.. 'coz my husband fears H1 rejection..
How do we answer this?
I got my H1 in oct05 and started working since then.
Can we mention this in the interview?
4.Is it better to use an interpretor ? My mom will be going alone and she is not very comfortable with the accent..
Please do advise .. I have gone throught the forum and have got lot of mixed answers for these.
5. CO Q: Why is ur husband not travelling with you?
can we say this?
A. My husband will come later ..
(my father will apply after a month and travel later)
Thankyou chellam
