Hi,
im a new member here.
let me introduce myself before i ask something .
Im doctor preparing for usmle step2.Not employed nowadays.I m going to US for appearing in step2 cs exam.
i faced some confusion regarding filling ds-156 form. which r as follow.
1. what visa do i require for going to USA for appearing in USMLE Clinical skill exam?
i presumed it should be B1/b2.Am i right?
2. What should i write under column no.20 which states 'r u employed or studying'?
As im right now not employed n as i have completed my medical college few years back, so what should be i writing under this column.
If i write 'NO' under this column then what should be my response in column no. 21
which states "present occupation".As im not Practicing neither im student then what should write under this column?
3. Regarding column no.28 ' who will pay for ur trip'?
My parents(lives in India) will paying for my trip.Main reason im asking it is that somebody told me its better to write that ur relatives in USA is going to sponsor u n not to write self or ur parents.So what should i write under this column?
Another q relating to this is that if i write in column no.24 which is ". At What Address Will You Stay in The U.S.?,my relatives address ,then do i need to get an sponsorship letter from them ,even if my expenses will be paid by my parents.
4. and the last thing which is not related to ds-156 is that my name in vfs fee reciept n passport don't match .(my middle name is missing in vfs fee reciept n else remains same).
Will it create any problem when i go for visa interview?I called the phone no. in vfs
website regarding this n they said it wont create any problem except that u explain to interview officer that it was an hdfc error.Have anyone experienced this problem n what was response of interview officer?
