Does the port of entry/destination for the visitor have to be the one closest/relevant to the address of the sponsor? For example, if the sponsor's address shows SanFrancisco, CA, can the ticket be purchased for New York? Has anyone had any experiences with regard to the destination/port of entry and sponsor address mismatch?

POE has no relation with the sponsor's address, A visitor can enter into USA through any POE without any problem.

Does this also mean that the final destination on purchased flight ticket can be anywhere in the US or will it have to be the one relevant to the sponsor? I am not clear on that. Kindly clarify.
Thanks,

if u show the itinerary during the i/v then it must match ur location as mentioned on the other forms - for actual travel though u can enter at a different POE.
