Hi,
We wish to apply for my in-law's visitor visa. My wife is their only child. My father-in-law has a small business and has sufficient funds to sponsor their trip. Should they use their own financial standing to seek the visa or my I-134 will help?
Had read somewhere that if parents apply for only child (girl) with Affidavit of Support, their ties to India is not proven and are looked upon as potential immigrant.

If they have Enough( generally speaking a very good bank balance) then they can claim as self sponored, Or it is better ou should sponsor their visa.
While it true that only child being in US may have negetive impact on visa grant but it is not awlays true, if prepare well and follow the process eligible applicant do get the visa.
Interview is the key so well prepare them for the interview.

My parents got 10 yr multiple in december 2005, even though I am their only daughter(only child). My husband sponsored my parents.
It proves that it is not true that being an only child will be the reason for rejection.
Good luck!

Thanks. I can sponsor in-laws.
But I have just applied for my mom's visa as well, sponsoring her. Can my in-laws also apply with my sponsor letter at around the same days (within few days). Do they retain a copy of I-134 / or maintain such record?
