Visa extension

My relative has visitor visa (on Passport stamped ) upto Mar19th 2006 with multiple entry.
she is coming to USA on Feb4th 2006. I was planning to apply her extension once she comes to USA. Is it possible to get extension. Can somebody thro comments / past experiences.
Your help is greatly appeciated.
